Forged carbon steel raised face Slip-On Flanges

The difference between forged carbon steel raised face slip-on flanges and welding neck flange:
1.The weld form is different: the welding seam can not be radiographic inspection, and welding of the weld. The welded weld seam of the flange and pipe with neck butt welding is the fillet weld, and the weld seam of the neck butt welding flange and the pipe is the ring weld, and the butt weld is a two fillet weld, and the weld is a docking ring seam. The weld with welding neck flange and nozzle is a type B seam, and weld seam with forged carbon steel raised face slip-on flanges and nozzle connection is a C type seam, which is not the same as nondestructive testing after welding.
2.The nominal pressure is different: with the forged carbon steel raised face slip-on flanges called pressure: 0.6---4.0MPa, and with the welding neck flange called pressure: 1--25mpa grade, obviously, with the neck flat welding flange of the pressure grade lower.
3.Different connection methods: with the forged carbon steel raised face slip-on flanges and welding neck flange is the largest difference in the structure of the receiver and flanged connection, with the neck flat welding flange is generally take over and flange angle, and with neck butt welding flange is flange and nozzle docking.
Forged carbon steel raised face slip-on flanges can only be connected with the pipeline, but not directly with the welded pipe parts, welding flange can be generally with all the welded pipe parts (including elbow, tee, reducer, etc.) directly connected, of course, including pipelines.

The neck-welded flange and neck-welded flange cannot be replaced casually, in terms of manufacturing angle with neck flat weld flange (so is slip on abbreviation) inside through large, means the weight is small, the cost is low, another nominal diameter greater than 250mm neck butt welding Flange (WN is welding neck abbreviation) to detect, So the flange does not need to be tested, so the cost is relatively low.
